India's parliamentary committee on communications and information technology has called executives from Meta, Google, X and Snapchat to explain how their platforms protect users, comply with Indian laws and safeguard sensitive personal data. The meeting comes days after Meta briefly removed a Facebook video of Prime Minister Narendra Modi in error.
